In the next few weeks Teamsters Local 320 will be engaged in a political battle for survival. When we discuss survival we truly mean it. Look into ACT 10 in Wisconsin or study the changes to Iowa’s Chapter 20. These attacks on union workers were made possible because folks in Iowa and Wisconsin elected anti-union leaders. Furthermore, the attacks on pensions by state legislatures keep happening again and again. Just this week there was an article from the Des Moines Register about the current Iowa governor’s intentions to privatize the public employee pension system.
We cannot be complacent when so much is at stake in this upcoming election. Teamsters Local 320 in cooperation with Teamsters Joint Council 32 DRIVE have endorsed the following candidates for public office for good reason—the most pressing being that each and every candidate supports your right to organize and collectively bargain.
