Teamsters Local 320 filed Unfair Labor Practices (ULPs) charges against Itasca County and Hennepin County in State District Court.
The complaint against Itasca County cites unilateral changes to an established collective bargaining agreement for County Probation Officers. Itasca County Administration unilaterally reduced the aggregate value of their employees’ health insurance benefit while the two-year labor agreement between Teamsters Local 320 and the County is in full force and effect.
Teamsters Local 320 wants to compel Itasca County Administration to re-negotiate any and all changes to the insurance benefit with the Union.
The complaint against Hennepin County cites the County’s blatant disregard for a Teamster member's rights under the collective bargaining unit agreement and their Laudermill rights.
Teamsters Local 320 wants to compel Hennepin County to fully adhere to the established discipline process and make whole any Teamster member who was harmed by this violation.
When all's said and done, we can assess these attacks on our members and their collective bargaining agreements is the direct result of Janus v. AFSCME. The Supreme Court ruling hasn’t had the intended impact for our Union, but employers will still use it to undermine workers’ rights.
