Keegel/Yates Education and Scholarship Fund
Contributions to the Keegel Yates Teamsters Joint Council 32 Education Fund come from Local Unions, members, and special endowments. The Fund is named in honor of retired IBT General Secretary-Treasurer and Joint Council 32 President C. Thomas Keegel and deceased Joint Council 32 President Harold J. Yates. Each of these men's dedication to children and education and their generosity helped sustain the scholarship program. Teamsters Joint Council 32 believes that the Labor movement in America lies in the hands of our children, and we believe that education is the key to their future.
Keegel Yates Teamsters Joint Council 32 Education Fund Scholarship Awards for Graduating High School Seniors
Through collaborative efforts of the Joint Council 32 Executive Board and the Keegel Yates Teamsters Joint Council 32 Education Fund, eight $2,000 scholarships are offered annually to graduating high school seniors. All students who have maintained a “B” or better average throughout high school and who are the children of active or retired Teamsters are eligible to apply. Winners are drawn by lot, and the University of Minnesota Labor Education Department assists in verifying the winners’ qualifications.
